The aim of this course is to introduce students to the techniques used in silk/batik painting and dyeing.

The course covers a variety of techniques such as those used in Batik and Discharge printing.

This course is for students of all abilities, no previous drawing skill is needed. There are lots of ways to design great one off textile prints taking inspiration from natural and every day objects. The course will provide students with test pieces, a length of fabric for a scarf or cushion, all dyes and equipment. Silk and satin is also available to buy. Please wear old clothes, bring rubber gloves if worried about your hands. Dye stains. Lunch is provided with a vegetarian option, plus tea and coffee during the day. Available as a 1, 2 or 3 day course.
