Profile - Caroline Pitcher
I have always had a mad passion for print, this has led me to print my own velvets, linens and print and paint my own ceramics. I have travelled around the world exploring different cultures and hence broadening my knowledge of other countries varied use of pattern. The incredible diversity of printing techniques and approch to colour has been an ongoing inspiration to me.

At the Textile Studio my aim is to provide an environment where I can share this passion and help other enthusiasts and students to develop their creative skills. The beautiful setting of the Studio in the midst of the New Forest will give students inspiration for their courses. Our extensive library of Art and Design books and collection of vintage fabrics and ceramics is also available for students’ reference.

I graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London with a BA Hons in Fine Art Textiles and I have an MA from Manchester in Textiles/Fashion. I have worked in theatre and opera and, for the last 25 years, I have worked as a Television Costume Designer, mainly in Comedy and Comedy Drama. Some of my credits include Spitting Image, Father Ted, Smack the Pony, Greenwing and, most recently, Armstrong and Miller and the Inbetweeners.
