The aim of this course is to introduce students to techniques used to print and paint linen and cotton using a range of paints that can be iron fixed. This process lends its self well to making individual tea towels and aprons. Stencils and Indian woodblocks are a great way to achieve pattern. Natural or abstract subject matter lends itself ldeally to this medium. The course is for students of all abilities, no previous drawing skill is needed. There are lots of ways to design great one off textile prints taking inspiration from natural and every day objects. The Course will provide students with test pieces of linen and cotton to try out idea's, and a piece of linen or cotton to take home printed as a tea towel, apron or cushion cover. All dyes and equipment will be provided. fabric is available to buy. Lunch is provided with a vegetarian option, plus tea and coffee during the day. Available as a 1, 2, or 3 day course.
